Iowa man arrested after firearm accidentally discharges inside Velocity Urgent Care in South Boston

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (WFXR) — A man has been arrested after a firearm was accidentally discharged in a Velocity Urgent Care in South Boston Friday.

At approximately 10:26 a.m. on Friday, March 5, the South Boston Police Department responded to Velocity Urgent Care at 3601 Old Halifax Road for a call that there had been a firearm discharged within the building.

Officers arrived to find there had been an accidental discharge of a firearm in the office and some minor damage within the building, but no one was injured.

Authorities arrested 55-year-old Larry Dornell Henderson of Iowa in connection with this incident.

Henderson was charged with two felonies: knowingly carrying a concealed weapon after being convicted of a felony and knowingly and intentionally possessing or transporingt a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.

He was also charged with one misdemeanor: recklessly handling a firearm so as to endanger the life, limb, or property of another.

Henderson was reportedly held in the Halifax Adult Detention Center under a $3,500 secure bond
