HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Due to Wednesday’s wet weather, Southside community members will need to wait one more day before they can enjoy the family-friendly fun of the Henry County Fair.
County officials announced on Wednesday, Sept. 22 that they decided to cancel the first day of the fair because of the rainy conditions.
As a result, the ribbon-cutting for the Henry County Fair will take place at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, with the opening day festivities taking place until 10 p.m.. The fair will also be open from 3 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25.
Even though Wednesday’s opening day was canceled, advanced tickets will still be good for any one day of the fair, according to officials.
According to the Henry County Fair Facebook page, the event will feature about 20 rides in the Midway, delicious food, fun prize games, the Circus Shane Show, the Great Lakes Timber Show, the animal exhibit, the Agricultural Extensions Contests, daily appearances by the winner of the Miss Henry County Fair Pageant, concerts on Thursday night and Friday night, and a fireworks show on Friday night.
