HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Halifax County Schools says that students and parents can expect delays for students arriving to and from school due to a shortage of substitute bus drivers.

The district announced on Tuesday, Oct. 5 that some drivers are running double routes, which is causing anywhere from 30 to 45 minute delays in some cases.

In some cases, students may be on a bus with a different number and/or a different driver.

Schools impacted include Custer Springs Elementary, South Boston Elementary, South Boston Early Learning Center, HCMA and HCHS.

The district says they apologize for any inconvenience.
