MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — God’s Pit Crew is sending trailers filled with donations of essential items to Hurricane Ida victims.

“The blessing bucket is anything that you would need, your immediate needs if everything was taken away from you,” said Rhonda Zola, Vice President of Advancement for God’s Pit Crew. “Things that we take for granted like a toothbrush, toothpaste, a washcloth, a towel, food items, water, just those basic essentials that all of us need everyday of our life. And on top of every bucket is a Bible.”

Autos by Nelson in Martinsville donated $5,000 to help fund the hurricane relief initiative.

God’s Pit Crew will continue to take donations as well as any help from Tuesday, Sept. 7 to Saturday, Sept. 11.
