Fire crews battled structure fire Saturday afternoon in Blairs

BLAIRS, Va. (WFXR) — On Saturday afternoon, crews with Blairs Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire at 600 North Pointe Lane that left several apartments extensively damaged.

According to the department, crews responded to the scene around 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, April 3. When they arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from apartments on the third floor of the structure.

Crews attacked the fire, which was brought under control in about an hour. However, several apartments sustained extensive fire and water damage.

Fire officials say the American Red Cross is helping families who were affected by the fire with relocation.

Meanwhile, the department says two patients were treated for smoke inhalation and one patient was taken to Sovah Danville in stable condition.
