PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A man is facing multiple charges after authorities discovered drugs and a gun in a Pittsylvania County home on Wednesday.
The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office says its Special Investigative Division “executed a narcotics search warrant” on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at a home in the 800 block of Gallows Road in Gretna.
When they were searching the home, authorities say they found and seized methamphetamines, as well as a firearm, which led to the arrest of Joseph Michael Childress.
According to officials, Childress was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamines with the intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm while in possession of methamphetamines with the intent to distribute.
The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, and the Danville Police Department reportedly helped take Childress into custody.
As of this writing, authorities tell WFXR News that Childress is being held without bond in the Pittsylvania County Jail while waiting on his initial court appearance.
