DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Beginning Tuesday morning, Danville motorists may run into delays as a multi-day resurfacing project takes place along Route 58.

According to the City of Danville, the street resurfacing will get underway on Tuesday, Aug. 16 along a one-mile segment of Route 58 East, starting about half a mile west of Vandola Road — across from the collision center at 6262 Riverside Drive — and ending just short of Parkway Drive.

Officials say at least one eastbound lane will be maintained at all times during construction, following typical traffic control procedures.

Weather permitting, the city expects the paving project will be finished by the end of the day on Thursday, Aug. 18.

While the resurfacing is underway, motorists are asked to slow down, watch out for altered traffic patterns, give yourself more time to reach your destination, or consider an alternate route.
