UPDATE 3:10 p.m. 5/2/23 DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Police Department has made two arrests in connection with the homicide that occurred at Woodside Village Apartments on Monday, May 1.

Both individuals are considered to be persons of interest at this time. They are currently in custody for unrelated charges. Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.

UPDATE 9:50 a.m. 5/1/23 DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Police Department has identified the victim in the Woodside Village Apartments shooting that occurred on May 1.

Danville PD says 37-year-old Marcus Hairston was killed due to the injuries sustained during the incident on Monday. After finding Hairston, officers administered CPR, but he was later pronounced dead on the scene.

A third victim has also been identified after he arrived at SOVAH Danville with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Investigators say there are currently several persons of interest Danville officers are pursuing the incident.

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — On May 1, the Danville Police Department reported they are investigating an incident that left one man dead and another one injured.

Details are currently limited, but police say units arrived at the Woodside Village apartment on the 1300 block of just after midnight and found one man dead and another man with non-life-threatening injuries.
