Danville man sought after dispute results in stabbing, police pursuit

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Danville are looking for a man, they say, stabbed another man early Monday morning and then escaped officers following a vehicle pursuit.

According to the Danville Police Department, a 31-year-old man called 911 after he was stabbed in the 400 block of Dula Street around 1:30 a.m. on Monday, June 21.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is in serious, but stable condition, authorities say.

Police say the victim told them that 30-year-old Gary Lee Henry, Jr. stabbed him and left in a burgundy sedan.

Officers reportedly located the sedan on West Main Street before the driver led officers on a brief vehicle pursuit, which ended in the 600 block of Edgewood Drive. According to the department, the vehicle crashed into a fence and Henry then ran away from the scene.

Police searched the area, but did not locate the man.

Henry is wanted on charges of aggravated malicious wounding, eluding police, and hit-and-run.
