Danville Humane Society offering $1,000 reward for info after pit bull found abused, abandoned

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Area Humane Society is offering a $1,000 reward for information after an injured, abandoned pit bull was brought into the shelter Monday evening.

The humane society says the young male pit bull was found by two men on Monday, July 12.

According to the shelter, the dog has bite marks on his head and legs, as well as a massive and severe wound to his neck. In addition, the dog was underweight and dehydrated.

Through the Earl Merricks Stop the Cruelty Fund, the Danville Area Humane Society is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest or conviction of the person(s) who abused and abandoned this pit bull.
