DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — First responders in Danville have shut down part of West Main Street Monday morning because of a fire involving a utility pole.

The Danville Fire Department says that West Main Street is closed in both directions between Withers Road and Old Mayfield Road.

There is no word on any outages resulting from this fire — which officials say has caused damage to the utility pole — but the Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) online traffic map is showing some slowed traffic along West Main Street.
