UPDATE: Danville Expressway ramp reopened after tractor-trailer fire, fuel spill

UPDATE 4:45 p.m.: Danville Police confirm the ramp off of the Danville Expressway has reopened after a tractor-trailer fire and fuel spill.

Police say the northbound ramp of the Expressway to River Park was closed due to a tractor-trailer that was spilling fuel after a fire.

The scene has been cleared.

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Drivers on the northbound side of the Danville Expressway can expect delays due to a tractor-trailer that is spilling fuel.

According to Danville Police, the ramp from the northbound Danville Expressway to River Park is closed due to the spill which was caused by a fire. The ramp is expected to be closed for several hours.

They say traffic delays can be expect along parts of the Expressway as well as sections of River Park to Dan Daniels Park which may be blocked.
