DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Danville City Council members will meet on Tuesday night to discuss the next step to bringing a new casino to the River City.
City leaders will be holding a public hearing to rezone the former Schoolfield Mill site on West Main Street.
Council approved zoning standards for the Casino-Entertainment District back in May.
There will also be discussion regarding a zoning ordinance that allows medical cannabis dispensaries to be opened.
Currently, as written, dispensaries would have to be located 1,000 feet from schools or child care centers.
The meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
