DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Fire Department says several crews responded to a fire at the Woodberry Hills Elementary School on March 25.

Around 11:47 a.m. on Saturday, firefighters including the Danville Police Department were dispatched to 614 Audubon Drive for reports of a structure fire. Crews arrived within four minutes and found the Woodberry Hills Elementary School with heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear corner of the building.

Emergency responders began attacking the fire and it was quickly extinguished. Once the fire was controlled, crews searched the building and confirmed that it was vacant. There were no reported injuries.

The Danville Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
