CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Charlotte County Public Schools (CCPS) will require students, staff, and visitors to wear masks at the beginning of the school year.
This decision comes after the CDC updated its guidance on Tuesday, Aug. 3 to call for universal indoor masking. Previously, the Charlotte County School Board announced a mask-optional policy, but it was overturned with the CDC guidance.
In a post on Facebook, the school district wrote that if the CDC guidance changes they will revisit the mask policy. Until then, masks will be required on CCPS buses and in CCPS County Cares.
Students start the school year on Monday, Aug. 9.
