Body found behind fast-food restaurant in Henry County Monday morning

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Henry County authorities are investigating after a dead man was found behind a Collinsville fast-food restaurant Monday morning.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office says a 911 call came in shortly after 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, about a dead person behind the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 3500 Virginia Avenue in Collinsville.

According to authorities, they responded to the scene and found a dead man wearing a black baseball cap, black t-shirt, blue coat, and blue jeans in the rear parking lot near the dumpsters.

While the cause of death is unknown at this time, the sheriff’s office says the evidence at the scene could indicate a possible drug overdose.

The body was reportedly transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia to determine the man’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death.
