Southside Virginia News

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The City of Danville wants you to respond to the call by giving blood and casting your vote for your favorite department — police or fire — on Thursday and Friday.

The Danville Police Department and the Danville Fire Department are partnering with the American Red Cross in an effort to collect at least 103 pints of blood.

The goal amount of 103 pints of blood would be enough to potentially save as many as 309 lives.

The blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 29 and Friday, July 30 at the Pepsi Building on Craghead Street. For an appointment, visit www.redcrossblood.org.
