Appalachian Power customers in Martinsville can expect service disruption this weekend

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Appalachian Power is advising residents of Martinsville to expect power to be cut for a time early on Saturday and Sunday as crews are scheduled to perform upgrades to facilities in Henry County.

Power disruptions will take place for all Martinsville residents who use AEP as their power source.

The first outage will take place early Saturday, May 8 between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m.

A second outage is scheduled for Sunday, May 9 – also between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m.

Upgrades will improve the reliability of the electric service that Appalachian Power provides to the Martinsville area.

While power is out, the city will also perform maintenance and upgrades to its facilities.
