ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – A new boutique hotel is on its way to downtown Roanoke and the team from DIY Network’s Salvage Dawgs will feature the hotel in next week’s episode.
Savara Development, LLC is working on the new boutique hotel at the Liberty Trust Bank Building, located at 101 South Jefferson Street.
The Liberty Trust Bank Building opened in 1910 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is also a Virginia Historic Landmark.
Before the renovation began on the building, the Salvage Dawgs’ crew filmed an episode inside of the building for the 11th season of their popular DIY Network show.
The Salvage Dawgs explored the building from top to bottom locating and removing architectural elements from plumbing and lighting fixtures to dangerous heavy safe doors which will be used in a custom build for the new hotel’s lobby.
The hotel will be known as The Liberty Trust and will feature 54 guest rooms along with a lobby bar and restaurant.
The Liberty Trust will be the only member of the prestigious Preferred Hotels and Resorts group located in Virginia’s Blue Ridge and only one of six in the entire state.
The hotel will begin taking reservations in the summer of 2020 and is expected to open in late 2020.
The episode featuring the Liberty Trust Bank Building can be seen on Monday, Dec. 30th at 9 p.m. on the DIY Network.
