Sheriff’s office speaking with churches about safety

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office visited the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Henry to talk about church security.

“We are very honored to have the opportunity to meet with our local churches and discuss with them how they can begin to formulate ideas that lead to a safer congregation,” Sgt. J.P. Nolen said.

He also their training in this area being passed along to churches is a passion of the sheriff.

The department has offered free security classes to congregations in the past. In November 2017, they offered it after the shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.
