Sheriff’s office arrests Rocky Mount man for business break-ins

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 28-year-old man from Rocky Mount for the burglary of two businesses in the Callaway community. 

According to authorities, Tommy Jon-Lewis Roop has been indicted on two felony counts of burglary and two felony counts of grand larceny on September 3. 

He is accused of stealing from two businesses: A&A Market and Auto Discount Center in Callway. He is accused of stealing a gun, ammunition, cigarettes, hand tools, and electronic equipment. 

Roop is being held in the Roanoke City Jail without bond on charges from Franklin County and Roanoke.
