(WFXR) — Three days after Sunday’s winter storms covered southwest Virginia in snow and ice, a number of schools — mostly in the New River Valley — are still keeping their doors closed or altering their operations for Wednesday.
Here is a list of the schools that have announced delays, closures, and/or virtual learning days as of 5:34 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3:
Appomattox County
Appomattox County Public Schools will have a virtual learning day on Wednesday, but that is meant for teachers to have a professional development day.
Craig County
Craig County Public Schools says Wednesday will be a virtual learning day for all students. However, lunch will be available for pickup from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. to those who either order their meal online or call their school to place the order.
Floyd County
Floyd County Public Schools will have a normal virtual learning day on Wednesday.
Galax
Galax City Public Schools will be closed for in-person classes and not offer meal delivery on Wednesday, but all students will still have virtual classes.
Giles County
Giles County Public Schools are holding a virtual learning day on Wednesday.
Grayson County
Grayson County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.
Pulaski County
Pulaski County Public Schools will be closed (Code 2) on Wednesday — which is the first day of the second semester — for a synchronous learning day because of the amount of snow and ice on the county’s back roads.
Wythe County
Wythe County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday (Code 4) with no meal service, but virtual learning will continue from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wytheville Community College will delay Wednesday’s operations by two hours, but online/Zoom classes will proceed on their regular schedule.
