Some areas in Rockbridge County are experiencing flooding as the creeks and streams are on the rise.
According to the National Weather Service, the river at Rockbridge Baths is above flood stage at 9.43 and nearly steady. Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
At Lexington, the river was falling from 14.2 feet earlier Friday morning, flood stage is 14.5 feet.
At Glasgow, the Maury River stage was 14 feet and rising.
Meteorologists predict the river at Glasgow will remain in flood stage through the afternoon and into the evening.
The upper portion of the river at Rockbridge Baths and Lexington will likely drop below flood stage Friday afternoon.
The Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office posted several photos of flooding in Goshen, Beans Bottom, and the Furrs Mill Road area.
