ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — This video was taken Friday afternoon as more storms dropped heavy rain across parts of the region. This comes after parts of downtown Roanoke experienced flooding late Thursday.
Friday’s storms are moving slowly and may drop heavy rain over a long enough time that could lead to localized flooding of low-lying poor drainage areas.
Never attempt to drive through water-covered roads. You can not determine the depth of water, and just six inches of water can stall most cars’ engines. In addition, just 12 inches of rushing water can sweep away most cars.
