FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — One person was hurt on Wednesday evening after a car collided with a deputy’s vehicle in Franklin County.

According to Virginia State Police, shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, a member of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office stopped to help a disabled vehicle in the 400 block of Virgil H. Goode Highway.

Authorities say a Scion hit the deputy’s patrol vehicle and the driver was brought to Roanoke Memorial Hospital to be treated for injures from the crash.

However, the deputy was not in the vehicle at the time of the incident, police say.
