UPDATE: Man dies of injuries after Saturday night’s southeast Roanoke shooting

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police say a man died from his injuries after a shooting that occurred late Saturday night in southeast Roanoke.

According to the Roanoke Police Department, they were notified shortly at approximately 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, April 3 that a person had been shot in the 100 block of Campbell Avenue SE.

Police say while they were responding, they learned about a man who had arrived at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital via personal transport with, what appeared to be, serious injuries from a gunshot wound.

Officers found evidence of the shooting while at the scene, but they did not find any other victims or suspects.

On Thursday, April 8, the department announced the victim — identified as 29-year-old De’Andre Kasey of Roanoke — died from his injuries

According to police, this is an ongoing homicide investigation.
