The department says a pickup truck was pulling another vehicle and had caught fire.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke County motorists may run into delays during their Wednesday afternoon commute due to a vehicle fire along I-81 South.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the southbound right lane is closed at mile marker 131 on I-81.

Even though VDOT has not released an estimate of the delays resulting from the vehicle fire at this time, WFXR News’ Parker King says traffic is backed up beyond mile marker 132.
