ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is opening a community vaccination center for anyone 65 years and older and those over 18.
The center will be located at the former Sears location at Valley View Mall at 4812 Valley View Blvd. on Thursday, Oct. 14.
Health officials say they are offering booster shots for anyone 65 years and older, or over 18 who have underlying medical conditions or who live or work in a high-risk setting, and who received the second dose of their Pfizer vaccine six months or more ago.

Vaccination remains the best way to end the pandemic,” said Dr. Cynthia Morrow, Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts, Health Director.
VDH will also offer the first dose of Johnson & Johnson or the first or second dose of Pfizer or Moderna. According to health officials, they will also offer a third dose of Pfizer or Moderna for those who are immunosuppressed.
