UPDATE: Roanoke Police confirm death of Harriet Hodges after body found Saturday

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Roanoke have confirmed the death of a missing senior who has been missing since March.

According to the Roanoke Police Department, a woman’s body was found in an outer building in the 2200 block of Sherwood Avenue SW on Saturday, May 1 at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Police say there were no signs of foul play or trauma.

The body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office, where authorities say she was later identified as Harriet Hodges.

“Please keep Harriet’s loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time,” the Roanoke Police Department said in a statement on Tuesday, May 4. “Thank you to community members who tirelessly searched for her and assisted Roanoke Police during this investigation.”
