UPDATE: One teen fighting for his life, one arrested after Roanoke County shooting

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Police say one teenager is seriously injured and another is in custody following Thursday’s shooting at a Roanoke County apartment complex.

The Roanoke County Police Department says officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Garst Mill Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 3 following multiple calls about gunshots in the area and a person who had been shot.

When police arrived at the scene, they located a man on the ground outside of an apartment building with multiple gunshot wounds.

That victim — identified by the department as 19-year old Calik Ty’jhay Harris of Roanoke City — is currently at Roanoke Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries from multiple gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, authorities say 19-year-old Camron Marquis Jeffries of Roanoke County, has been arrested and is being held for aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The investigation into this case is still ongoing.
