ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — In October, football fans can take a non-stop flight from South Bend, Ind. to the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport.
It’s part of the Touchdown in College Town Program to help connect smaller college towns to each other. United Airlines added the flight in support for additional demand for the Notre Dame Virginia Tech football game on Oct. 9.
The flight will be on Friday, Oct. 8 where it will depart from South Bend at 5:30 p.m. and arrive at the Roanoke airport at 7:30 p.m. The flight then leaves from Roanoke back to South Bend at 8:45 a.m.
“We are thrilled to be added to United Airlines Touchdown in College Town Program”, said Brad
Boettcher, Director of Marketing and Air Service Development at ROA. “We are honored that United is
adding the direct flight to make it easier for fans to get to the game. This is a great opportunity to
showcase the region not only for football but as a place to live, work, and play.”
Tickets are available by visiting the United Airlines website.
