ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — On Saturday evening, reports of two water main breaks prompted the Western Virginia Water Authority to begin assessment and repairs to the water main breaks impacting parts of Longview Avenue and Forest Hill Avenue NE in Roanoke.

According to Sarah Baumgardner, PR manager for Western Virginia Water Authority, repairs are expected to take anywhere from six to eight hours.

The water main breaks were first reported around 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22. This means customers may experience a disruption in service until the repairs are finished — estimated to be no later than 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23.
