SALEM, Va. (WFXR) — Two people are displaced following a house fire in Salem Saturday morning.

According to the Salem Fire and EMS Department, crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire on Saturday, May 22.

When units arrived at the scene, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from multiple sides and extending into the attic. It’s unclear how long it took firefighters to extinguish the flames.

The department says the cause of the fire was deemed electrical, but there is no estimate of the damage at this time.

Fire officials say the residence consisted of two separate living units, leaving two residents displaced.
