UPDATE: Workers on-scene repairing damaged track after train derails Friday night in Roanoke

UPDATE: 11:20 a.m.: WFXR News is on the scene where a train derailed late Friday night in Roanoke.

According to workers, they are working to repair the train track along Norfolk Avenue SE in downtown Roanoke.

They have not given us an estimate of repairs being complete.

This is the same area that saw another train derailment take place last December where nearly 10 rail cars derailed.


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Late Friday night, crews responded to reports of a Norfolk Southern train derailment in downtown Roanoke.
