ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – As the project to improve the intersections at Orange Avenue and Hollins Road continue, paving operations will take place and a traffic switch will be put in place for commuters next week.

Starting on, or about, April 4, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, the travel lanes of Route 460 (Orange Avenue) eastbound will be resurfaced at the intersection with Hollins Road, east of the intersection with Kimball Avenue and west of the intersection of 11th Street.

Drivers should expect lane closures in the area during that time.

Once resurfacing is complete on the eastbound side, the left lane of eastbound Route 460 and the westbound lane of Route 460 will be closed for the reconstruction of the median, turn lanes as well as the median along Hollins Road.

This traffic pattern will remain in place for approximately eight weeks with project completion anticipated for the Fall of 2021.
