UPDATE 5:04 p.m.: The scene of a southeast Roanoke traffic incident along Garden City Boulevard has cleared, but at least one person was reportedly injured in the crash.

Jason England tells WFXR News his son, Dylan, was driving one of the vehicles involved in the wreck, which left him with some bruises from the seatbelt, a few scrapes, and an airbag rash.

Meanwhile, Roanoke Fire-EMS has not released any new information about the incident.



ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Tuesday afternoon motorists may run into some backups in southeast Roanoke while crews are on the scene of an incident shutting down Garden City Boulevard.

According to Roanoke Fire-EMS, Garden City Boulevard SE is completely closed between Hartsook Boulevard SE and Davenport Avenue SE.

The department announced just after 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 that motorists should expect delays for the next 30 to 60 minutes due to the incident.

Motorists are asked to look for alternate routes around southeast Roanoke until the scene is cleared.
