FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Three men have been arrested in connection with a burglary at the Smith Mountain Lake 4H Center last weekend.
On Tuesday, Jan. 19, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a white 2003 Chevrolet 2500 pickup that was stolen from the Smith Mountain Lake 4H Center in Wirtz on Saturday, Jan. 16. Additional property had also been stolen from the location.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office located the truck on Wednesday, Jan. 20, which was in possession of 47-year-old John Bradford Altice of Rocky Mount.
Also on Wednesday, investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old Brian Keith Gillespie of Rocky Mount and 35-year-old Samuel Armando Diaz of Rocky Mount in connection with the burglary.

All three men were charged with felony burglary and grand larceny. Gillespie was given a $2,500 secured bond, Diaz is being held at the Franklin County Jail with no bond, and Altice is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail in Dublin.
The additional property that had been stolen from this incident was located and returned to the 4H Center.
