ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — One of Roanoke’s most well-known bands, The Kings, is returning to The Dog Bowl this Saturday for an outdoor evening of live music.

On Saturday, July 9 at 6 p.m., The Kings, one of the Star City’s most popular and loved bands, will be taking the stage at The Dog Bowl.

Tickets are $5 per person, but children under 12 are free. Gates open at 5 p.m., attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair for lawn seating.

Adults ages 21 and up may purchase $5 beer and wine tickets with proper ID. Rock & Roll Food Truck will be on site serving food for purchase. The Dog Bowl asks that no outside food, drinks, pets, pop-up tents or umbrellas are brought to the venue.

The Dog Bowl is an outdoor concert venue located between the Roanoke River Greenway and Black Dog Salvage. The venue features a variety of up-cycled materials, with the main focus being on the stage that was once a semi-trailer from the Montea Drive-in.

Black Dog Salvage has partnered with First Holidays, Roanoke’s original “Party with a Purpose” to put on the concert series. The proceeds from admission and drink tickets will support a variety of local non-profits.

The next concert will be on Aug. 13, featuring the Blinky Moon Boys. Ken & Jayne’s Burgers and Dogs will be serving food.
