ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Roanoke are investigating a shooting that left a teenage boy seriously injured early Saturday morning in the northwestern part of the city.
The Roanoke Police Department says word came in about a person with a gunshot wound in the 200 block of Cherry Avenue NW at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, July 24.
Officers responded to the scene and found a juvenile male outside of a home with what appeared to be a serious gunshot wound. The teen was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
During the initial investigation, officers determined that the shooting did not take place in the area of the 200 block of Cherry Avenue NW.
Details regarding what led up to the shooting are still being investigated.
No arrests have been made.
