UPDATE 9:25 p.m.: All lanes of Route 220 Alternate in Botetourt County have been reopened after a multi-vehicle crash sent two people to the hospital.
WFXR News has not received an update on the condition either individual.
UPDATE 8:35 p.m.: Virginia State Police confirm that three vehicles were involved in the crash on Route 220 Southbound in the area of Read Mountain Road Wednesday evening.
The crash occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
Two people were taken to the hospital for undisclosed injuries sustained in the crash.
One southbound lane is open. Crews are working to clear the scene and all lanes should be reopened soon.
Drivers should expect delays if traveling in this area.
BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – A multi-vehicle crash has shut down all southbound lanes of Route 220 in Botetourt County.
According to VDOT, the crash is located near the intersection with Read Mountain Road.
Drivers will need to find an alternate route around this crash.
