Southbound lanes of Interstate 81 reopened after vehicle fire

ROANOKE COUNTY/BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police have reopened the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 following a vehicle fire this afternoon.

It happened at approximately 4:36 p.m. on Thursday, June 10 on the Botetourt/Roanoke county line. There were miles long back-ups while the situation was brought under control.

Police say a tractor-trailer carrying coffee creamer caught on fire. No injuries are reported. The investigation remains under investigation.
