ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WFXR) — A sentencing date has been scheduled for Jacob Fracker, a former Rocky Mount police officer charged in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Fracker was scheduled to be tried alongside another former Rocky Mount cop, Thomas Robertson, but he took a plea deal back in March.

As a result, Fracker pleaded guilty to a felony charge of conspiring to obstruct an official proceeding, agreed to cooperate with authorities, and served as a key witness for the prosecutors against Robertson.

Fracker’s sentencing is set for Aug. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Officials say he faces up to five years in prison and a potential fine of up to $250,000.
