Section of Blue Ridge Parkway to shut down in Roanoke County; closure to last through next Spring

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – A section of the Blue Ridge Parkway will be temporarily closed in Roanoke County as part of the Roanoke River Bridge Rehabilitation Project.

The Parkway will be closed at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 23 between Milepost 112 outside of Vinton to the Roanoke River Bridge at Milepost 114.7.

During this time, access to Explore Park will be open from Route 220 at Milepost 121, Mill Mountain Parkway at Milepost 120 and Rutrough Road.
