ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke Police Department (RPD) says a man has been arrested in connection to the 10th Street NW shooting that occurred on May 12.
RPD tells WFXR News that 33-year-old Jaliyl S. Clinton from Salem was arrested and charged with the following:
- Malicious Wounding
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
RPD says on May 12 shortly before 10 a.m., officers received a call regarding a gunshot victim on the 1800 block of Downing Street NW. On the scene, police found a man with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Details about Clinton’s arrest are limited at this time, however as the investigation continued, officers learned that the shooting took place at a convenience store on the 1900 block of 10th Street NW.
According to police, Clinton was taken into custody shortly after the shooting occurred.
