Salem Farmers Market to welcome back ‘Salem After Five’ concerts

Roanoke Valley News

SALEM, Va. (WFXR) — The “Salem After Five” concert series is returning home to the Salem Farmers Market on Friday evening with a fan favorite, “Domino,” as the opening act.

Even though current COVID-19 safety precautions and guidelines will be in effect for each concert, music fans are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy a relaxing night outdoors in downtown Salem starting Friday, April 30.

Gates are scheduled to open for each performance at 5 p.m. and the shows will last until 9 p.m.

Food from local vendors, adult beverages from P.A. Short, and children’s activities will reportedly be available at these events. However, officials say coolers, outside food, drinks, rollerblades, skateboards, and pets are not allowed on the premises.

Kids age 12 and under will be admitted for free, but tickets cost $5 for adults, with all proceeds from the concerts benefiting several charities throughout the Blue Ridge region.
