VINTON, Va. (WFXR)– Rosie’s Gaming Emporium in Vinton is continuing to create a buzz for many local gamers.
Colonial Down’s Group has made a $28 million investment into the community with a new expansion project which allows Rosie’s to add 350 new, never-before-seen games, bringing their total to 500.
The gaming location opened in 2019, but during that time, many customers urged the casino to expand due to it being over capacity many nights.
It now holds 1,400 people, which is almost three times more than the original model.
Rosie’s general manager, Ernie Dellaverson, says this is a big economic boost for the community.
“The town of Vinton loves it,” Dellaverson said. “This has been such a great drive for them, such a great economic engine. I beg a lot of people to go check out the downtown Vinton area. It has a lot of fantastic little shops they incorporated in there, new restaurants. It’s been a win-win situation for both of us.”
The expansion also adds more entertainment acts. The construction included a live stage where a band played the blues all day on Wednesday, Dec. 8.
Rosie’s will not be singing the blues as long as the new expansion proves as popular as the old setup.
During September 2021 alone, customers bet more than $28 million at the Vinton location. To put that in perspective, that is about the same amount of money spent on the new expansion.
