Rocky Mount Elementary to close, return to all virtual instruction due to COVID-19 outbreak

ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WFXR) — Due to a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak, Rocky Mount Elementary will be closed and students will return to all virtual instruction starting Friday.

During the school’s closure — which will take place from Friday, Jan. 15 through Friday, Jan. 22 — the following procedures will be conducted:

  1. The school building and buses will be deep cleaned.
  2. Food will be available for outside pick-up on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Monday, Jan. 25 is a teacher workday, so students will return to a normal schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 26, which begins the new four-day onsite instruction. Students will receive in-person instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
