ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke’s tastiest week is back in downtown!

Restaurant Week started on Friday, Jan. 21 and will continue through Sunday, Jan. 30. According to restaurant officials, restaurant traffic tends to slow down in January, so it’s important to have an event like this to bring in business.

“I guess the funnest part is seeing the excitement of the staff, and having people come back into the building,” said 202 Social House owner Neal Keesee.

There are over 20 different restaurants participating in this year’s Restaurant Week. Among them are Billy’s, 202 Social House, Awful Arthurs, and Cabo Fish Taco. Restaurants like 202 Social House are offering their regular menu, as well as specials just for the week.

Most restaurants are social distancing, along with providing takeout options for people who may not want to dine in.

“Last year we required to go dining for everyone so I’d imagine they would be willing to offer the menus to go but you’ll have to check with the restaurants individually,” said Jaime Clark, VP of marketing and communications for Downtown Roanoke, Inc.

Downtown Roanoke, Inc. is giving away 10 $100 dollar gift cards to places downtown. To enter the giveaway, just simply post a picture of your food to social media and use the hashtag #RoanokeRestaurantWeek. The winners will be picked on Feb. 3.
