ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — You’ve heard of bridal showers and baby showers, but what about kitten showers?
On Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5, the Roanoke Valley SPCA is hosting a virtual and drive-thru “Kitten Shower” to support their foster and adoption programs.
There will be special drive-thru hours from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday and again from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday for supporters to donate essential cat and kitten foster supplies.
A tent will be set up in the parking lot of the Roanoke Valley SPCA — located at 1340 Baldwin Avenue NE — in order to allow donors to drive up, drop off their donations, and pick up a Kitten Shower party favor.
You can also make donations online on the Roanoke Valley SPCA’s kitten shower website or by purchasing items from this special Amazon Registry.
“Katie, our Feline Foster, Intake, and Enrichment Coordinator, has been visiting municipal shelters in our area, which are currently crowded with cats and kittens,” said Denise Hayes, CEO of the Roanoke Valley SPCA. “By pulling some of these kittens and their moms into our foster care, space becomes available for other cats in need. The more resources we can provide, the more cats we can help. That’s why these donations are so important – they literally help us to save more lives!”
Don’t forget about the dogs, though! The Roanoke Valley SPCA is also seeking Milk Bone donations in a variety of sizes for canine companions.
