ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke Valley SPCA is wrapping up its Sit. Stay. Give! auction on March 18.
With the hope to raise money for repairs to its facility on Baldwin Avenue and essentials for pets in need, the Roanoke SPCA is hosting the last weekend of its fundraiser at 9 a.m. With the help of donors, participants will get the chance to win gift certificates to restaurants, travel opportunities, jewelry, pet products, and more.
“We are in desperate need of a new roof, so we are hoping to fundraise as much as possible in
order to make that happen. Unfortunately, having a leaky roof reduces our capacity for
care of pets in need. The sooner we can replace it, the sooner we can help more pets!” said Denis Hayes, Ceo.
The SPCA has been open since 1916 and has been a place for lost, abandoned, and homeless animals. Each year Roanoke Valley’s SPCA helps to provide food, shelter, medical treatment, and more for over 1,500 homeless animals.
On Saturday, only 250 tickets will be sold and raffle tickets and auction items can be found online. All profits from the auction will go toward the Roanoke Valley SPCA.
